Passenger and freight transport in Tunisia are characterised by a strong concentration of motorised road transport. As the number of vehicles in Tunisia is steadily increasing, public transport, pedestrian and bicycle traffic are underdeveloped in comparison to their potential.
This report aims at giving an overview over the development of a National Urban Mobility Policy (NUMP) in Tunisia. The report documents the steps of the NUMP development by first characterizing the transport sector in Tunisia. Additionally, the project context is explained before discussing the different mitigation actions and approaches such as a GHG inventory compilation, the projection of baseline emissions or the GHG impact assessment in detail.
