Monitoring Emission Savings from Low Rolling Resistance Tires

MRV Blueprint Based on an Example from the EU

In 2012, the EU introduced regulations for low rolling resistance tires to reduce fuel demand and greenhouse gas emissions. These regulations received considerable international attention and inspire similar legislation elsewhere. This blueprint exemplifies a measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) process for tire labelling and phase-out regulations. The scope is limited to tire-labelling and phase-out concerning heavy-duty trucks over 3.5 tons.
