Ana Eugenia Ureña Chaves

Ana Eugenia works as technical advisor in Costa Rica for the implementation of mitigation measures in the transport sector with a focus in active mobility and local governments for GIZ’s MiTransporte project and Euroclima+. She is an architect from the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica and holds a master’s degree in urban development and International Cooperation from the Technische Universität Darmstadt.

Prior to GIZ, Ana funded the architecture and urbanism firm Tandem and worked in the sustainable development NGO sector in Costa Rica. Her experience includes development of projects and knowledge exchange with Germany, Peru, Colombia, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and United States; as well collaborative work with UNDP, KOICA, IUCN, Costa Rica For Ever, FUNDECOR, FAICO, Global Green Growth Institute, Forest Stewardship Council, among others.
