Transport and Climate Change Week

June 21-25, 2021

Building confidence in change

For the fourth time we bring together experts and decision-makers from all around the world to facilitate knowledge sharing and networking through peer-to-peer exchange and specialised workshops. We do not only build capacities, but establish meaningful relations, which lie at the foundation of development cooperation. This way,

“We try to create confidence in the feasibility of changing transport – that it’s possible to change transport for the better.”

– Sophia Sünder, Manager Transport and Climate Change Week 2017-2020

Connecting an established community

Since it was first held in 2017, the Transport and Climate Change Week has established as a successful format that enables dialogue, cooperation and exchange between developing countries and growing economies. With more than 500 participants, experts and trainers joining in Berlin over the past years, we are lifting the event to a whole new level with this year’s edition. In 2021, we will exchange and develop future solutions all together connected by the new digital possibilities and a virtual conference room. The Transport and Climate Change Week 2021 will connect the transport community around the globe opening the door for active participation despite COVID-19 travel restrictions around the world.

Connecting globally, regionally, and nationally – on a whole new level

With an engaging, interactive and thematically attractive central programme organised from Berlin we are providing the participants with forums for dialogue, forums for learning, peer-to-peer exchanges, inputs, trainings and networking opportunities. Besides the global programme the participants can join regional formats of exchange. Be it in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa or Asia. Participants and viewers will be able to follow a livestream throughout the week, which will be moderated in our Berlin studio.
The development of online events by a global team makes this Transport Week an ever more collaborative project. With the shift to a virtual format, we will be able to open the dialogue about changing the world of transport to even more people, growing this ambitious community in the effort for sustainable transport.

We look forward to working with you in moving the next edition of the Transport and Climate Change week into climate and COVID-19 friendly cyberspace. Feel free to get in touch with feedbacks, questions or ideas via transportweek@giz.de
